↳ Due to the realignment, there will be four divisions in the NHL as of 2013/14 season.
Every team in the West plays 29 games within their own division, 21 games against non-division conference foes and 32 games - one home and away - with each Eastern Conference team. In the East, the schedule includes 30 games inside the division, 24 against the conference’s other division and 28 games - again, one home and away - with every team in the West. That means all 30 teams play in all 30 arenas this season. Sixteen teams still make the play offs: the top three from every division result in six spots per conference, the other two, called wild-cards, come from the two remaining teams with the most points regardless of their division.
